Project Overview
Clarissa’s Crafts is a crafts account I created to help me begin fundraising for Life Force in Later Years (LiLY).
I coordinated and co-planned a
community fundraiser held in StuyTown selling handmade pottery, clay magnets, baked goods. The bakse sale fundraiser combined together branding and handmade products to create a small neighborhood experience that raised nearly $4,000.
Throughout this year, fundraising efforts for Clarissa Crafts has totaled almost $7,500.
Branding
Crafting the Identity
The visual direction was more fun and playful, built around a funny heart logo I originally created for the Clarissa’s Crafts account. I used the logo, hand-drawn lettering, bright colors, and simple graphic details across social posts, and packaging.

To build excitement leading up to the event, I designed promotional graphics and signage that shared key information while keeping the fundraiser’s personality consistent.
Products
Clay Magnets & Pottery
I created and sold hand-painted clay magnets and my friend Kelly donated some of her ceramic pieces that were also available for sale. All proceeds also went towards the fundraiser!
CAKE JARS
Packaging the Treats
My goal was to make homemade cake jars to sell along with the other baked goods as well as the clay and pottery pieces. The cake jars were paired with ribbon, and mini printed menus.
Outcome
Results
Luckily, I had a bunch of friend volunteer their time to bake and donate baked goods for my fundraiser. The event became a much bigger community event with about 60-70 attendees.Through handmade products, baked goods, and a cohesive visuals, the fundraiser raised nearly $4,000 (including company matching).
PREPARING AND BAKING
In the days leading up to the fundraiser, friends and fellow bakers either joined in baking sessions or dropped off homemade treats to contribute. I focused on making cake jars while friends volunteered time to also creating packaging, and signage to tie everything together.
THE BAKESALE IN STUYTOWN
The fundraiser was hosted in Stuytown and brought together friends and neighbors. Throughout the day, people stopped by to browse, donate, and spend time together, turning the event into more than just a fundraiser.
THE PICNIC IN TOMPKINS
After picking up baked goods, people were invited to continue the afternoon at a picnic setup in Tompkins Square Park. Attendees and bakers gathered on blankets with purchased baked goods while pottery and clay pieces were displayed for sale nearby.
