Project Overview:

Developed interactive maps and redesigned client briefing materials, including PowerPoint presentations, to showcase U.S. supplier contributions to foreign contract wins for the U.S. Department of Commerce Advocacy Center in the 2023 and 2024 fiscal years.

At the U.S. Advocacy Center, which assists U.S. companies in winning foreign contracts, I contributed to communication and design efforts that supported their global outreach. My responsibilities included conducting 50 due diligence reports to verify compliance and integrity, as well as creating and redesigning client briefing materials. Utilizing Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, and Salesforce, I optimized communication processes and enhanced the visual quality of presentations. Throughout this experience, I gained insights into global markets and was actively involved in meetings, gaining firsthand exposure to the intricacies of the deal-making process.

Task
At the direction of the Acting Director, I was tasked with developing a communications project that included creating detailed maps showcasing U.S. companies’ supplier networks tied to foreign contract wins. These maps, without disclosing specific company names, display the headquarters and supplier locations across the United States, with one map dedicated to fiscal year 2023 and another for 2024. These visualizations are essential for advocacy efforts, because they emphasized the extensive impact of international contracts on local economies, demonstrating the diversity of U.S. suppliers involved in these international dealings. This information highlights the importance of supporting U.S. companies in international markets, reinforcing the Advocacy Center’s mission to promote U.S. business interests abroad.

In addition to reformatting informational documents, I took on the task of redesigning slide decks to enhance the effectiveness of presentations for critical meetings, whether with interagency partners or within our department. My goal was to maintain the Advocacy Center's established aesthetic, incorporating specific blue tones that aligned with our brand while elevating the clarity and visual appeal of each slide. I aimed to create a more readable and polished presentation style that conveyed information professionally yet engagingly, supporting our team in effectively communicating key insights and strengthening our advocacy message.
